EXPEDITION SERIES
Mount Waddington 2026
Towering at 4,019 m (13,186 ft), this remote and rugged peak rises dramatically from sea level within just 32 kilometres, surrounded by deep gorges, massive icefields and awe-inspiring Himalayan-like terrain. It presents some of the most demanding and breathtaking expedition mountaineering in North America.
Expeditions and Educational Trips
Since 2012, True Patriot Love has produced ambitious fundraising expeditions around the world engaging Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans and civilians.
Past expeditions have collectively raised over $9 million for the military community and have directly impacted 66 ill and injured military personnel and Veterans. Funds raised have allowed for enhanced job training and recruitment, provided 144 Veterans with rapid job placement, helped to fund more than 9,800 hours of peer-to-peer mental health counselling, and allowed for a $500,000 investment to create a virtual reality therapy program for Veterans living with PTSD which has been implemented across the country.

Civilian participants are business and community leaders from across Canada who raise funds to help True Patriot Love fulfil the mission of supporting military and Veteran Families. Military expeditioners are currently serving members or Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces who have sustained a service-related illness or injury.
Our expeditions also provide a meaningful mentorship opportunity and shed light on the challenges of transition and the stigma of mental illness. Business leaders offer one-on-one support to military participants as they transition to civilian careers, and civilian business leaders learn from the valuable experiences and skills of our military and Veteran participants for a mutually beneficial mentorship experience.

True Patriot Love’s 2025 all-women’s expedition brought together 22 business leaders and military members to paddle 240km on the internationally renowned Nahanni River.

True Patriot Love’s Barbeau Expedition 2023

Located on Ellesmere Island in Quttinirpaaq National Park, Barbeau Peak is Canada’s most isolated peak and at 8,583 feet (2,616m) the highest mountain in Nunavut, the Canadian Arctic, and all eastern North America.

Building on the experience of past expeditions and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenging realities associated with it, True Patriot Love launched their first ever Virtual Winter Expedition, a new program that brought together military servicemembers, Veterans and Canadians across the country.

True Patriot Love Algonquin Adventure 2021

Active military servicemembers and Veterans who themselves have faced increased issues due to the pandemic will have the opportunity to come together with frontline healthcare workers to share their experiences and to heal. Military participants will provide the healthcare workers with valuable insight on resiliency gained through their training and combat experience, while at the same time acquiring new perspectives to assist them with their own challenges. Using nature as the backdrop, participants will learn new skills, enhance their ability to cope with stressful situations, forge new friendships and grow their support networks. Participants will gain confidence, strength and self-reliability, better positioning them to move forward.
