Grant Term:
• This is a rolling application process with two review points in May 2026 and August 2026. See below for specific timelines.
· Funded activities must take place between June 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027.
· Successful applicants will participate in a verbal interim impact meeting (approximately six months after disbursement) and submit a written final impact report outlining activities, outcomes, and financial expenditures.
· Grant recipients may also be contacted periodically for updates outside of these formal reporting periods.
· Note: True Patriot Love is currently reviewing its impact reporting requirements. Any updates will be shared with grant partners once finalized (anticipated Summer 2026).

Examples of eligible programs include the following. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list – please contact us to explore opportunities for collaboration and funding.

• Rehabilitation and recovery integration: Alignment with physical and mental health goals, recognizing adaptive sport as part of a Veteran’s ongoing recovery; programming may occur in any season.
• Off-season training and conditioning: Strength, balance, endurance, and sport-specific training (e.g., ski-ergs, rollerskiing, indoor simulators) that prepare participants for winter or other season activity.
• Consistent programming and coaching: Ongoing coaching, rehabilitation-informed sport programming, and peer support that addresses the unique visible and/or invisible needs of Veteran participants.
• Hybrid and alternative environments: Access to indoor facilities, dry-land training sites, or modified outdoor spaces that replicate winter sport movements year-round.
• Adaptive equipment access: Year-round availability of specialized equipment (e.g., sit-skis, outriggers, adaptive snowboards) for training, maintenance, and familiarization; not just seasonal use.

Proposals should focus on one or more of the following themes:
• Increasing access for Veterans to participate in adaptive sports, year-round
• Capacity-building through the purchase of equipment

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

• Canadian Registered Charities, including non-profits supported by a charitable partner
• All components of programming is delivered in Canada
• Service delivery organization has a strong understanding of and, is informed by the lived experience of Serving Members of the Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans and their families.
• Inclusion of safety and safeguarding policies, including background checks and trauma-informed practices
• Evidence-based with clear objectives, a measurement plan and specifically addresses project sustainability post-funding
• Programs that directly support the military and Veteran community (while First Responders may participate in programming, True Patriot Love funding is directed to support the participation of those who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces and/or their families.)

Ineligible Activities and Expenses:
• Maintenance of equipment
• Events and conferences
• Property/Infrastructure builds
• Partisan and religious activities
• Out-of-country expenses
• For-profit Organizations
• Individuals
