Goddard Roundtable
About the Captain Nichola Goddard Women in Leadership Series
The Women in Leadership Series was started seven years ago to honour the memory of Captain Nichola Goddard, the first Canadian woman soldier to lose her life in a combat role.
Held in cities across Canada, the Leadership Series presents panel discussions with Canada’s top female Forces members and Veterans joined by an audience of business leaders and military members. These evenings are a unique opportunity for civilians, Veterans and serving members of the military to meet, network and learn from each other. It’s an evening of insight, inspiration and frank conversation about military leadership from a female perspective.
The Women in Leadership series is presented by True Patriot Love Foundation to benefit the Captain Nichola Goddard Fund. In partnership with Nichola’s family, True Patriot Love Foundation raises funds for, and disburses the Goddard Fund to community programs across Canada that support servicewomen, women Veterans, and their families.
To date, the Captain Nichola Goddard Fund has distributed over $1.1 million to a diverse range of programs that empower well-being and enhance mental health, including programs that provide safe spaces for dealing with operational stress injuries and PTSD; support for members of the Forces who are making the transition to civilian life; mindfulness and therapeutic arts programs, and many more.
