Set Sail with True Patriot Love
In collaboration with Warrior Sailing Canada, True Patriot Love is thrilled to be offering sailing training camps in Atlantic and Pacific Canada!
The aim of Warrior Sailing Canada is to continue to grow interest in and opportunities for inclusive sailing experiences within the military community.
These camps provide an opportunity for ill/injured currently serving members and Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces to use the sport of sailing as part of their recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration journeys. Regardless of your current skill level, participants will receive expert instruction in sailing through classroom lectures and practical application on the water in order to gain the skills to participate in sailing in their local community.

Sailing Camp Overview and additional information
- The daily agenda is approximately 45 minutes of classroom work followed by 1.5 hours of sailing on the water. Back to land for lunch and then another short classroom followed by 2 hours sailing, practicing what was spoken about in the classroom on the water
- It is suggested that participants be comfortable around the water
- Everyone will be required to wear a life jacket when on board the boats
- Sailing is an outdoor activity, subject to the whims of nature
- Each day can be very different, and you should dress accordingly (a list of the clothing to bring will be provided)
- Rain generally doesn’t stop us sailing, so bring wet weather gear
- Also, bring your favorite sunscreen!
- We sail with 3 Participants and a coach on board each sailboat. While the coach is there to instruct, you will be doing the sailing. Each participant rotates through each of the 3 main positions (jobs) on board. You will quickly understand the team dynamics of making a sailboat move through the water in the direction you would like to go
- Hotel accommodations will be double occupancy, and you will be sharing a double occupancy room with another participant of the same gender noted on your application
