NATIONAL FUNDING 

Concussion Legacy Foundation Canada  

Program funded: She Speaks: Her Service, Her Story 

Funding will help create the first national peer-support and storytelling program exclusively for women Veterans navigating brain trauma and mental health conditions. Program delivery includes: women-only moderated peer-support group; increased engagement through the Operation Brain Health App and TeamUp; and the Walks and Storytelling campaign that amplifies women Veteran voices nationally.  

Support Our Troops/Soldier ON – Team Canada  

Program funded: Team Canada  

As the formal charitable partner of Team Canada for the Invictus Games and the Warrior Games, True Patriot Love supports the training, participation and affiliated activities for Team Canada and the Friends & Family Program. This represents the first tranche of funding in preparation for Invictus Games 2027 in Birmingham, UK, and will support Training Camp #1 in Kingston, ON in August 2026 and Training Camp #2 in Esquimalt, BC. 

MILITARY CREATIVE ARTS 

Central Saskatchewan Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) 

Program funded: Artful Path to Wellness  

Artful Paths to Wellness supports serving Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, and their families in Central Saskatchewan through therapeutic art classes and wellness workshops that promote mental wellbeing and community connection. 

New Brunswick Youth Orchestra  

Program funded: Sistema NB Oromocto Centre (in partnership with New Brunswick MFRC) 

This is a first-of-its-kind Canadian program designed specifically for children of military families. Sistema NB uses ensemble music-making as a vehicle for positive social change, helping children  

build focus, discipline, teamwork, empathy, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging. 

Veterans Artist Collective 

Programs funded: in BC, Alberta, Ontario and Nova Scotia 

This program delivers facilitated, arts-based workshops for Veterans across Canada, using creative practice as a non-clinical pathway to support well-being, self-expression, identity, and social connection. Programming includes painting, metal forging, and ceramics workshops. 

CHILDREN AND YOUTH 

Calgary MFRC  

Programs funded: Summer Day Camps/Camp Maple Leaf 

Funding will support three components of summer camp programming for children and youth from CAF and Veteran families: Calgary Summer Day Camps: three one-week camps serving up to 30 children per day; Camp Maple Leaf: two one-week overnight camp experiences supporting 20 children; Camp Your Choice: providing 40 youth in Red Deer and Lethbridge the opportunity to attend a camp of their choice in their own community. 

Mainland BC MFRC  

Program funded: “My Choice” Summer Camp 

The “My Choice” program will provide 80 summer camp grants for children aged 5–16, empowering participants to select a camp that aligns with their interests. 

Comox MFRC  

Program funded: Deployment Dinners with childcare 

This project was developed to address gaps in support for military families during the pre-deployment and reintegration phases, by offering accessible, low-barrier opportunities for families to connect, supported by reliable childcare. 

PEI MFRC  

Program funded: Send an Island Kid to Camp 

This project will provide full or funding for at least 100 children from serving, released, and Veteran military families to attend the accredited summer camp of their choosing during summer 2026. 

Tanamakoon Charitable Foundation  

Program funded: Camp Maple Leaf programs in Ontario, Alberta, BC, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia 

Camp Maple Leaf delivers national, military-specific programming that supports the mental wellness, resilience, and social connection of children from Canadian military and Veteran families. Through inclusive, peer-based camp experiences, children connect with others who share similar lived experiences, reducing isolation and strengthening confidence. 

Mental Health Commission of Canada 

Program funded: Mental Health & Wellness Skills Training for Camp Maple Leaf staff and counsellors in training in Ontario  

Camp Maple Leaf staff and counsellors in training will receive practical training to reduce stigma, support self-care, recognize mental health concerns, and appropriately support peers. 

Montreal MFRC  

Program funded: Integration communautaire jeunesse  

This project delivers a series of supervised, facilitator-led activities for children from military families aged 0–12, supporting children’s development while providing meaningful respite for parents. Activities include guided play, emotional expression exercises, self-esteem building, and other well-being-focused interventions. 

Esquimalt MFRC/Personnel Support Programs (PSP)  

Program funded: PSP Summer Camps  

Personnel Support Programs (PSP) summer camps at Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt provide military-specific programming designed to strengthen military and Veteran families. The program offers inclusive, low-ratio camp environments that support children with diverse needs, including neurodivergent children and those experiencing increased stress and behavioural challenges during parental deployments and disrupted summer routines. 

Wounded Warriors Canada 

Program funded: Warrior Kids Program 

This initiative will support children of Veterans living with operational stress injuries (OSI) to attend a Wounded Warriors Canada Warrior Kids Camp or Virtual Program. Funding will enable the delivery of three in-person camps and four virtual programs, supporting approximately 250 children and positively impacting an estimated 1,000 family members. Offering both camp and virtual options ensures national accessibility across Canada. 

MENTAL HEALTH 

Veterans Transition Network  

Program funded: Men’s Manitoba Transition Skills  

With this funding VTN delivered a five-day Men’s Transition Skills Course in Manitoba in April 2026. This residential, trauma-informed program provides 50 hours of clinician-led group counselling, supported by trained veteran peers, and focuses on emotional regulation, trauma processing, identity transition, and rebuilding connections with family, work, and community. All costs are covered to remove financial barriers 

Veterans Transition Network  

Program funded: Stronger, Closer, Together – Alberta  

Stronger, Closer, Together is a five-day residential, group-based program that supports Veterans and their partners in strengthening emotional connection, trust, and communication following military service. 

Camp Aftermath  

Program funded: Roto 9  

Roto 9 is the next delivery of Camp Aftermath’s one-year, three-phase, trauma-informed mental health and wellness program for Canadian Armed Forces Veterans living with operational stress injuries (OSI) as they transition to civilian life. Roto 9 was developed to address a gap in long-term, community-based supports for Veterans. 

Le Sentier et Quatre Chemins (4C) – Quebec  

Program funded: Ensemble pour la population vétérane du Quebec  

This partnership between Le Sentier and Quatre-Chemins is designed to support more Veterans through a coordinated, seamless transition experience. Upstream, transitioning members can attend Bivouacs or 24–48-hour Base Camps in nature to prepare emotionally and mentally. The 12 month Parcours program then supports deeper work on identity, well-being, purpose, and self-redefinition. 

Bagotville MFRC – Quebec 

Program funded: Mental Health Accessibility Project for Military Families and Veterans 

The Mental Health Accessibility Project aims to improve access, coordination, and continuity of mental health services for francophone military families facing the unique pressures of military life. The project will enable early identification of families experiencing psychological distress, provide systematic and personalized needs assessments, and ensure continuous support throughout the care process. Its central objective is to ensure families receive the right support, at the right time, and in the right place, based on their real needs. 

The Pepper Pod  

Program funded: GardenHERS Challenge in Ottawa, Kingston and Montreal 

The GardenHERS Challenge is a community-based, participatory project led by women Veterans living with visible and invisible disabilities. In partnership with the Pepper Pod, participants will co design and help build an accessible, inclusive garden that reflects their lived experiences with blindness, limb loss, chronic pain, mobility limitations, and other service-related conditions.
