True Patriot Love's Nahanni River Expedition 2025
True Patriot Love’s Nahanni River Expedition 2025
August 26, 2025 – September 7, 2025
True Patriot Love’s 2025 all-women’s expedition brought together 22 business leaders and military members to paddle 240km on the internationally renowned Nahanni River.
Flowing through the Northwest Territories, the Nahanni has created deep river canyons that cut through mountain ranges and spectacular granite peaks. Its course is punctuated with whirlpools, rapids and huge waterfalls. In recognition of its spectacular features and terrain, Nahanni National Park Reserve was among the first World Heritage Sites declared by the United Nations.
Our Nahanni team started their journey at Virginia Falls, exploring this awe-inspiring waterfall twice the height of Niagara Falls. After a portage around the Falls, they did a 10km paddle to their first campsite at Clearwater Creek, the beginning of 10 days of epic journeying through one of Canada’s most challenging and beautiful landscapes.
Each civilian and military participant faced physical and mental tests throughout the adventure, but by joining forces to tackle these obstacles, the expedition team honed their leadership and self-development skills.
The all-women Nahanni River 2025 expedition continued the focus on mentorship that forms the basis of all of True Patriot Love’s expeditions. Business leaders provide one-on-one support to military participants as they transition to civilian careers, while learning from the valuable experiences and skills of our military and Veteran participants for a mutually beneficial experience.
We want to express our deepest gratitude to all the generous donors who supported this expedition. Your support makes this life-changing program possible!
