More than 80 years ago, Roland Lalonde served his country in combat during WWII. Today, at age 102, he serves by donating the paintings he creates to the Perley Health Foundation in Ottawa, ON, to raise money for the care of Veterans.

Starting on October 24, bid on a distinctive piece of art and make a difference! You can bid on Roland’s helmet as part of True Patriot Love’s National Tribute Auction.
Along with Roland, Canadian artists, celebrities and members of the military community have transformed helmets into unique pieces of art. Each helmet embodies their distinctive vision and pays tribute to the sacrifices made by Canada’s service members, Veterans, and their families. Each is a poignant reminder of the military’s critical role in safeguarding and defending our nation.

Funds raised at the auction will directly benefit programs that serve Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, and their families across the country, including programs like Perley Health’s creative arts program that Roland and many other Perley residents enjoy.
Perley Health is home to 450 residents in long-term care, many of them Canadian Forces Veterans. Upon moving to Perley in 2021, Roland rediscovered his passion for painting through Perley’s creative arts program. With professional artists, therapists and volunteers, Veterans like Roland paint, make ceramics, and do woodworking, sparking creativity and building companionship.
