True Patriot Love Scotiabank Expedition: Himalayas 2018</span
2018 marked the 65th anniversary of Sir Edmund Hillary’s iconic first ascent of Mount Everest. To mark the anniversary, Peter Hillary, Sir Edmund’s son and two-time Everest conqueror himself, guided a group of True Patriot Love expeditioners on a once-in-a-lifetime trek to Everest Base Camp. After reaching Everest Base Camp, some team members ascended the 20,000-ft. peak of Lobuche East, which sits next to Mount Everest in Nepal.
Everest enthusiast and acclaimed documentary filmmaker Ben Webster, and his experienced team of western and Sherpa mountaineering guides, led the expedition, and provided rare and privileged access to the Sherpa culture and Hillary legacy.

“It was amazing to reach the summit, but the truth is the value of this experience for me can be found in every step we took together as a team, every story we told, every person and animal we passed, and every moment we shared.”
– Chris Power, Veteran and TPL Expedition Participant (Himalayas, 2018)
