Texting service for youth from military families

True Patriot Love’s funding through the Bell TPL Fund has helped Kids Help Phone launch a new crisis text line: CAFKids. By texting CAFKids to 686868 (JEUNESFAC at 686868 for French speakers), children from military and Veteran families can access a counsellor who is trained in military culture and understands the unique challenges related to service.

An evidence-based, 24/7, national crisis texting service that caters to military life, is instrumental in ensuring children get timely access to mental health resources. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, which can intensify current stressors, CAFKids will provide youth from military and Veteran families with tailored counselling that caters to their realities.

For more than 30 years, Kids Help Phone has been supporting youth across Canada and now with funding from True Patriot Love, youth in military families will have direct access to 24/7 365 texting support through Crisis Text Line powered by Kids Help Phone.
