On 27 July 2023, we mark the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement, a significant milestone that ended over three years of intense fighting on the Korean Peninsula. As we pay tribute to this historical event, True Patriot Love joins in the remembrance and commemoration of the Korean War, an essential chapter in Canada’s military history.
Remembering the Korean War
The Korean War commenced on 25 June 1950 when North Korean troops invaded South Korea. United Nations forces swiftly joined the conflict, which endured until the signing of the armistice on 27 July 1953. During this bitter conflict, over 26,000 Canadians served on land, sea, and in the air, displaying remarkable courage and dedication. Tragically, 516 Canadians made the ultimate sacrifice. Today, we honour and remember their bravery and commitment to our nation.
