Chilliwack is one of 21 cities across Canada taking part in the Canadian Walk for Veterans on the weekend of Sept. 20 and 21.

The event will take place Saturday, Sept. 20 at All Sappers' Memorial Park, at 5571 Vedder Rd. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m.

True Patriot Love Foundation became the national coordinator of the walk after taking over from One Veteran Society, the founder, in 2024.

All funds raised through go towards veteran transition programming, both locally and nationally, ensuring those who served are never left behind.

The theme of this year's event is Veteran Transition: Honouring the Past, Supporting the Journey.

There will be a special tribute to the brave Canadians who served in the Second World War, Korean War, Cold War, Afghanistan and elsewhere while celebrating the continued leadership and impact of today’s veterans – as mentors, advocates, and community champions.
